New Programs Offered at the Maryville Retreat Center

The Maryville Retreat Center in Holly, Michigan, has announced their new programs for the fall that are open to the public. This beautiful facility and the Felician Sisters that operate it invite you to join them for the following programs. Click on any of the links to learn more:

Catholicism DVD Series
Travel with acclaimed author, speaker and theologian Bishop Robert Barron to more than 50 locations throughout 15 countries. The Catholicism Adult Study Program presents the strong, ecclesial dimension of the Catholic Faith: God’s revelation through Jesus Christ and His Church.

Meet and Greet the Saints Luncheon Series
Everyone has heroes in their lives, including the Catholic Church – we call them Saints! Some are well known, and some are not. Join us for lunch as we learn about some of these dynamic heroes of the faith. You never know who may show up.

Coffee Break with Jesus
Do you want to explore new ways to prayer? Prayer can take many forms. Join us for coffee as we learn about and practice different ways a person can pray. You may discover a new way to pray that is fit for you.

Mindfulness Retreat Day
Sr. Judith Blizzard is back for a wonderful day of learning to be aware of God in your everyday life. Participants will learn about the practice and benefits of mindfulness meditation as prayer. We will use breathing and quiet reflection to achieve a consciousness and awareness of the present moment, providing an opportunity for the Spirit to work within us.

Taize Prayer Experience
Spend an hour with us, sharing in prayer, beautiful music, silent time for reflection and Scripture readings. Songs are sung many times over as a prayer of the heart. Join us for this inspiring prayerful experience.

Catholic Spiritual Book Club
Join us as we unpack the spiritual nuggets found in the wonderful book, Beautiful Hope by Matthew Kelly. Copies of the text will be available for purchase at the first meeting. No reading is required prior to the first meeting.

Eucharistic Adoration
Join us for adoration of the Blessed Sacrament every Thursday afternoon in our beautiful chapel. Drop in anytime from 2-4 PM. There will be time for silent prayer, the Divine Mercy Chaplet (3 PM) and conclude with evening prayer (4 PM). What the world needs now is sweet prayer and more prayer.

Individual Spiritual Direction
Spiritual direction, often referred to as spiritual companioning, is the practice of being with a person who wants to deepen their relationship with God or to learn and grow in personal spirituality in their prayer life and everyday living. The director is a guide and confidant who can be helpful as the seeker opens more fully to the action of God’s spirit. These sessions are one-on-one with a trained spiritual director and by appointment only.

Prayer Groups
In addition to our current programming, we will be forming two prayer groups: Mindfulness and Lectio Divina.
