Catholic Foundation of Michigan Felician Sisters of North America - Livonia Support Fund
The Felician Sisters in Livonia, Michigan, were particularly hard hit by COVID-19. Twelve Sisters have passed away since April 10; eight of those deaths were connected to the coronavirus; 22 additional cases have been confirmed.
When word spread of the impact of the COVID-19 virus on the Felician Sisters in Livonia, they were met with an outpouring of support. Among other generous gestures of compassion, an article in Bridge gave a wonderful account of the Sisters' legacy in the area, and Senator Dayna Polehanki gave a tribute to the Felician Sisters and called for a moment of silence for them on the floor of the Michigan State Senate.
In addition, Angela Moloney, President & CEO of the Catholic Foundation of Michigan, has reached out to us to ask for our blessing and assistance with the establishment of a fund in support of the Felician Sisters of North America in Livonia.
After much discussion and discernment, we have accepted the Catholic Foundation of Michigan's kind offer with the belief that this opportunity will afford us much more than financial support. It will allow us to share the mission and ministries of the Felician Sisters of North America with an expansive and diverse audience with the hope of inspiring others to answer the call to serve in the spirit of Blessed Mary Angela.
We are grateful for this gift of Divine Providence that we have been granted and thank the Catholic Foundation of Michigan for their support.
