When Ukraine was invaded on Feb. 24, 2022, the Felician Sisters in Ukraine and Poland immediately began helping refugees with gifts of food and clothing, medicine and supplies, housing and transportation, comfort and prayer. From three different Felician provinces in Poland, hundreds of Felician Sisters offer aid to those affected by the war: refugees, soldiers, children and families.
From a Felician convent in the Ukraine, Sr. Mary Michalina Dobry writes,
“The difficult conversations, the pain and suffering of these people, who a year and a half ago lived normally – just like all of us – breaks the heart. Fortunately, God gives us the strength to go to them again the next day with a good word, with support, and with assurance of prayer. May God reward every gesture of goodness and kindness a hundredfold.”
As of August 2023, more than 8 million people had crossed into neighboring countries, with Poland hosting nearly 60% of those refugees. The sisters continue to serve the refugees as they minister to the ill and elderly, support families and nurture the young.
100% of all funds collected are sent to our Polish Provincial houses for the needs of Ukrainian refugees. May God bless you for your generous spirit.
