Response to Love Center Receives Two Gifts in Support of Efforts

Response to Love Center gets $500 grants from Buffalo Love Your Block & Erie County Masonic Foundation for food aid.

The Response to Love Center, under the leadership of Felician Sister Mary Johnice Rzadkiewicz, was awarded a $500 grant from the City of Buffalo Love Your Block Community Response Fund and a $500 donation from the Erie County Masonic Foundation. Both contributions will be used to purchase food for RTLC clients.

Sr. Johnice and the Response to Love Center staff and volunteers offer special thanks to both of these organizations that stepped up to help them in their time of need.

At the Response to Love Center, programs such as a soup kitchen, food pantry, infant formula program, and thrift shop help meet the most basic needs of the people they serve, while additional programs, such as health care education, GED programs, computer classes and training for Veterans, help encourage self-sufficiency. Serving where needed since 1874

Founded in Poland in 1855, the Felician Sisters are a congregation of women religious inspired by the spiritual ideals of their foundress, Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska, and Saints Francis of Assisi, Clare of Assisi and Felix of Cantalice. Arriving in North America in 1874 following Blessed Mary Angela’s directive “to serve where needed,” they helped to weave the social service system. Today, the Felician Sisters founded, sponsor or support through the presence of our sisters, more than 40 ministries – all continuing to evolve to meet the needs of the people they serve.
