
Following a year characterized by strict COVID prevention rules at St. Francis Residence in Enfield, CT, the community room was reopened for the use of the residents on Easter Sunday. According to Residence Manager Sr. Joan Marie Swierzb, all of the residents have received their COVID vaccinations and they are ready to get back to enjoying the each other’s company.
Students from Bay Path University in nearby Longmeadow, MA, were welcomed to St. Francis Residence on Easter Monday. They meet with the residents three times a week and lead two exercise sessions each day.
On behalf of the residents, Sister Joan Marie thanked the students for their respect and concern for the residents as well as the joy they bring. She presented them with St. Francis Residence bags because, she said, “They are truly a gift to the residents.”
