Mother Angela Lives in the Hearts of Those Who Believe

Newlyweds honor their union by placing wedding cake topping at the feet of Blessed Mary Angela's statue.

A newly-married couple placed the topping of their wedding cake at the foot of the statue of Blessed Mary Angela on the grounds of Our Lady of the Angels Convent in Enfield, CT.

The statue was a gift from the family of Sr. Mary Seraphine Liskiewicz on the occasion of her 75th jubilee year as a Felician Sister.

This photo was taken on Saturday morning, November 14, at approximately the same time that Sr. Seraphine went home to God.

May Sister Seraphine and Blessed Angela intercede for a blessed and happy marriage for the couple who entrusted their prayers to her.

Serving where needed since 1874

Founded in Poland in 1855, the Felician Sisters are a congregation of women religious inspired by the spiritual ideals of their foundress, Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska, and Saints Francis of Assisi, Clare of Assisi and Felix of Cantalice. Arriving in North America in 1874 following Blessed Mary Angela’s directive “to serve where needed,” they helped to weave the social service system. Today, the Felician Sisters founded, sponsor or support through the presence of our sisters, more than 40 ministries – all continuing to evolve to meet the needs of the people they serve.
