Couple Raises Over $3,000 for Felician Sisters

When Michael and Phyllis Izbicki heard about the loss of 13 Felician Sisters to COVID-19 this spring at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Convent in Livonia, MI, they were moved to find a way to help. In October, they organized a chicken dinner, which they held at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church Hall in Wyandotte, MI, with take-out dining and raffles, and 100% of the proceeds benefitting the Sisters.

More than 250 supporters stopped by to pick up dinner and share their stories about the Sisters and how they impacted their lives. Marcia Wallander, Chief Mission Advancement Officer for the Felician Sisters of North America, who attended the event, said, "Some people drove more than 45 minutes to participate in the dinner."

Thanks to the success of the event, Michael and Phyllis were able to present Sr. Mary Andrew Budinski with $3,432 in support of the Sisters. Surprised by this unexpected blessing, Sr. Andrew expressed her gratitude for their “gift of generosity and compassion.”
