May Crowning in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania

At the shrine to Our Lady of Fatima on the OLSH campus, student representatives held a socially-distanced May crowning.

Jeff Hulbert, mission leader at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School, coordinated a May crowning for the Felician Sisters in the convent and representatives of the students from the high school. Chaplain Fr. Bill Dorner led the blessing as the students and Sisters practiced social distancing while sharing prayers at the Our Lady of Fatima shrine on their shared campus in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania.

Founded in Poland in 1855, the Felician Sisters are a congregation of women religious inspired by the spiritual ideals of their foundress, Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska, and Saints Francis of Assisi, Clare of Assisi and Felix of Cantalice. Arriving in North America in 1874 following Blessed Mary Angela’s directive “to serve where needed,” they helped to weave the social service system.
