Enfield Montessori School Holds Easter Parade

During quarantine, with school closed and activities cancelled, Enfield Montessori School teachers and families held a "socially distant" parade to spread Easter joy.

The quarantine may have caused the cancellation of the traditional Easter egg hunt at Enfield Montessori School in Enfield, Connecticut, but it couldn’t stop the teachers, parents and students from celebrating Easter with a parade.

Piled into about 50 cars, trucks and vans, members of the school community drove past Our Lady of the Angels Convent, sending Easter wishes to the Sisters, many of whom came out and braved the cold to enjoy the show. Others watched from windows, waving at the passing vehicles, many of which were decorated by the children with signs, artwork and eggs. One was even decorated like the Easter Bunny.

Serving where needed since 1874

Founded in Poland in 1855, the Felician Sisters are a congregation of women religious inspired by the spiritual ideals of their foundress, Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska, and Saints Francis of Assisi, Clare of Assisi and Felix of Cantalice. Arriving in North America in 1874 following Blessed Mary Angela’s directive “to serve where needed,” they helped to weave the social service system. Today, the Felician Sisters founded, sponsor or support through the presence of our sisters, more than 40 ministries – all continuing to evolve to meet the needs of the people they serve.
