Last week, Sister Mary Christopher Moore, Provincial Minister of the Felician Sisters of North America, formally accepted Marcella Aquino as a candidate. The ceremony of acceptance was celebrated in the chapel of Holy Name of Mary Convent in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, where Marcella has spent much of the past year visiting, praying, and discerning her call to religious life with the Felician Sisters.

Candidacy is a step in the formation process that signals that a woman is looking to begin the journey toward life as a Felician Sister. Her acceptance as a candidate is an invitation to join the Sisters more formally in prayer, ministry, and conversation.

Sister Mary Lynne Tramble, Local Minister in Mississauga, said, “The sisters were filled with hope as Marcella became a new candidate and voiced and signed her commitment form.” She added, “All were very grateful to God for her commitment to continue her discernment to religious life as a Felician candidate.”
